Google Arts & Culture showcases over 3,200 works of contemporary art

THE Google Arts & Culture presents the project What is Contemporary Art? which will tell the story of this artistic period in the world and Brazilian production will be well represented on the platform. Of the 51 institutions that bring their collections to the project today, 15 are from Brazil. Through an immersive digital journey, you can take Street View tours of the last São Paulo Biennial , see the exhibition “Who’s afraid of Teresinha Soares?”, from Masp , or get to know the Inhotim's outdoor installations. In total, there are more than 3,200 works that reveal details of contemporary Brazilian art.

Anyone who wants to travel around the world can visit, for example:

• To the works by León Ferrari, which belong to the collection of Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art (MAMBA), in Argentina;
• An installation made by Ai Weiwei in Denmark in honor of UN World Refugee Day;
• All works included in the 15th Istanbul Biennial, in Türkiye;
• Artists' productions emerging and established which marked the return of the Pakistan miniature movement;
• The productions of contemporary South African artists, in the exhibitions organized by Johannesburg Art Gallery;
• And highlights from important museums such as Serralves, in Portugal, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Qatar, and Barjeel Art Foundation, in the United Arab Emirates .

The What is Contemporary Art? project began in October last year, with museums such as the Modern Art Oxford, MoMA and Brooklyn Museum. With an online repository of exhibits and editorial content, there is also the answer to common questions about contemporary art, in addition to showing icons and artists who shape art today.
