In the dialogue that gave life to the book, new colors of the artist's trajectory are revealed, whose interrelations are nourished by geometry as well as music and poetry. In addition to the interview, the book presents a bibliographic review of Gonçalo Ivo's work. and the list of his solo exhibitions. “As can be seen, his continuity reveals both a polyphony that does not submit to the starting tone and the influence of diverse geographical environments in what grows on his own soil”, analyzes the editor Luiz Eduardo Meira de Vasconcellos.
Those present at the launch will be able to attend a talk by the curator and take part in a guided tour of the exhibition with the presence of Gonçalo Ivo.
Since November, Gonçalo Ivo has been exhibiting at MON the largest collection of his work ever assembled, organized across 500 m², featuring paintings, watercolors and objects that span the artist's career over the last two decades.
“I have learned that color makes me think plastically. Most of the time I am consumed by geometry, and this is something that is simply beyond my control. In my work, the geometry is often irregular or even playful. geometry is present in many aspects of nature, and perhaps our first contact with it is the horizon”, excerpt and speech by Gonçalo Ivo.
