Through images of snow, spider webs, irregular patterns, and randomly moving water, artist Isidora Gajic portrays personal stories that awaken diverse feelings.

Snow, sea, spider web can have very specific meanings when treated as words. But for Serbian photographer Isidora Gajic, it is possible to express feelings and relationships in photographs through images with these elements.
Personal stories are Isidora Gajic's inspiration. Using images as a form of visual poetry, which blurs autobiography and fiction, she creates handcrafted books, collages, and visual dialogues with photos. In his works, the basic concepts expected from a photograph: where? When? What is that? are no longer necessary: reading is different. Emotion captures and takes us to a lost place of memory, a place without references. According to the photographer, “if we try to see in the images created here in groups, only documents of what happened, we will be diminishing ourselves, falling into the error of the crowds who, not even experiencing the present, know any more, they just capture it to, frozen, serve as a trophy” , says the artist.
In his vision, the sea turns into a sheet of lead, the snow turns into celestial light, allowing the doors of imagination to open to other dimensions, beyond what we consider reality. “In current photographic creation there are primary mistakes, which limit our soul, which try to lead us to a mediocre world of selfies”, conceptualizes Isidora.
You will be able to see 32 works by the photographer, in an exhibition entitled Teias e Tramas , curated by Miguel Rio Branco, at Gabriel Wickbold Studio & Gallery, in São Paulo.
