CASACOR Rio de Janeiro has just been added to the official program of the first edition of Rio's Art and Culture Week, an initiative by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall — through the Municipal Department of Culture — in partnership with ArtRio. During the week, visual arts, music, theater, dance, cinema, and heritage share the same stage: the cultural spaces spread throughout the city's historic center, reaffirming the region as one of Rio's most vibrant creative hubs.

Hosted at the Aliança da Bahia Building, the show becomes part of this circuit with a program dedicated to architecture, interior design, and landscaping — expanding the dialogue between distinct artistic languages and offering the public another way to explore the city.

"The arrival of CASACOR in downtown Rio reinforces the transformation we are building with Reviver Centro and expands the presence of architecture, design, art, and the creative economy in this highly symbolic region of the city. Holding it during Rio's Art and Culture Week creates a special opportunity for integration with fairs, museums, galleries, studios, exhibitions, and other cultural programs, forming a large circuit capable of attracting new audiences and encouraging circulation throughout the territory. CASACOR dialogues with this broader agenda and helps consolidate downtown as one of the country's main hubs of art, culture, and creativity," says Lucas Padilha, Municipal Secretary of Culture of Rio de Janeiro.

Mind and Heart: this edition's theme

Under the theme "Mind and Heart", this year's edition invites architects, decorators, and landscapers to design projects focused on well-being, welcoming, and human connections. The choice to occupy a historic building is not accidental: it also expresses CASACOR Rio's commitment to preserving the local architectural heritage and to the projects that are reshaping this area of the city.

"CASACOR Rio's participation in the Art and Culture Week reinforces architecture and design as essential languages of cultural production. Being part of this program expands the dialogue between different creative expressions and invites the public to see the city from new perspectives," highlight Patricia Mayer and Patricia Quentel, directors of CASACOR Rio.

By joining the official program of Rio's Art and Culture Week, the show connects to one of the most relevant cultural appreciation movements in the city — and reaffirms its role as a platform for architecture, design, and innovation, bringing professionals, visitors, and the general public closer to themes that shape the way we inhabit spaces.
