Viareggio Carnival: Environmental awareness and tribute to women

February marks the most famous Carnival celebration in Italy, the Carnival of Viareggio . The 2019 edition of the event is dedicated to women. Carla Fracci, an international dance icon and representative of Italian talent worldwide, was the godmother of the opening ceremony. . The first depicts him as a video game warrior walking through the crowd, the second depicts him dreaming of conquering and colonizing the Moon, to show the world the supremacy of the United States. Representatives of local politics are found only among the crowd, where you can see masks of Matteo Salvini (the most popular) and Luigi Di Maio. A large space was reserved for the female universe at the party with many floats featuring women as protagonists: the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, classic figures from stories such as Medea and The Little Mermaid, Emma Bonino, an icon of the fight for women's rights.
