The artist's goal was to explore the influence and perception of color in architectural space and its impact on visitors. To achieve even more intense responses, Wes chose to open his installation in winter, the darkest season of the year. If it is displayed in the brighter months , the colors will be saturated. 
Light is one of the most sophisticated forms of installation. This is because it explores the creation of atmospheres detached from materiality. Artist Liz West has created a luminous chromatic expansion – called Your Colour Perception – for Castlefield Gallery's New Art Spaces Federation House in Manchester. . There, visitors can immerse themselves in a universe of colors that simulates the spectrum of a rainbow. With more than 450 m², the work uses T8 fluorescent lamps and cellulose gel to simulate the appearance of painting.
