How can art be an important awareness-raising tool for environmental activism? This is one of the main questions raised by the exhibition
Environmental: art and movements, which is currently taking place at
MuBE (Brazilian Museum of Sculpture and Ecology). Curated by
Cauê Alves , chief curator of the Museum, and
Marcia Hirota , executive director of the SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation, the exhibition brings together works by 22 artists, including photographs, drawings, paintings and installations, as well as the ideas and actions of six socio-environmental organizations. .

Names such as Luiz Zerbini, Pedro Motta, Shirley Paes Leme, Brígida Baltar, Dudi Maia Rosa, among others, are present at the exhibition, which also has the participation of the organizations Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica, Greenpeace, Instituto Socioambiental (ISA), Fundação Pró- Tamar, Save-Brasil and WWF-Brasil with actions throughout the exhibition period. "We have emphasized a contemporary look at art to broaden people's understanding of the occupation of space and incorporating expressions that dialogue with our environment," says curator Cauê Alves.

"We were born from a genuine interest in fighting for something that belongs to everyone and we must remain that way, always respecting the characteristics and functions of nature for our well-being. It is important that society understands the importance of socio-environmental movements. We always collaborate in the debate based on scientific data, in the formulation of relevant strategies and effective public policies for the entire population", explains Marcia Hirota.
