Sean Yoro's hyperrealistic street art

Sean Yoro, popularly known as Hula , has recently become known for his surprising and magical work. The street artist, a native of Hawaii but based in New York, has innovated by creating graffiti that colors and brings life to unusual places. . His hyperrealistic works are not made on simple city walls, but in totally unexpected places, such as rocks and always surrounded by the sea. " Art didn't interest me until my adolescence, when I began to idolize local graffiti artists for work they did on public walls. From then on, I started drawing and sketching a lot in my free time," recalls Hula. The artist has a very strong connection with the sea, which is why he always carried his spray cans and paints on his board to create his graffiti. " The ocean and my connection with water have always been a main inspiration for my art. . I was working on some underwater photoshoots when the first concept hit me. I considered how much fun it would be to work in the water, on my board, instead of cooped up in an art studio. From there, the pieces were born," he explains. . Since the artist uses a larger than usual surfboard, it is not difficult for him to balance, which resulted in an innovative 'floating studio'. " I use a stand-up paddleboard for a person twice my size, so I have a lot of stability - it's easier than it sounds," says Hula.

In most of the paintings, Hula depicts stunning female characters who appear as if they are drowning or emerging from the water, creating an optical illusion with their natural mirror reflection. Each of her murals is painted using a traditional oil painting technique and It can take up to four days to be ready.
