This is the last week for you to sign up for the Sustainable Home Challenge . Project registration on the website runs until December 3rd. The goal of the competition, created by CASACOR in partnership with Inovatech Engenharia , is to stimulate ecological thinking among architects and interior designers, in the creation of a sustainable home. The author of the winning project will win a trip for two to CASACOR Miami and the project will be the inspiration for the sustainable home at CASACOR São Paulo 2018 . The Sustainable House project for next year will occupy one of the houses of the Jockey Club of São Paulo. The entire architectural complex is protected by the State and Municipality of São Paulo. The house has 74.93 m² and, for the competition, it must be designed as a residential space with a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The project cannot disfigure or damage the building's facades and must take into account the design parameters defined in the competition regulations , as well as the theme of the 2018 edition of CASACOR São Paulo. : Living House The main façade will be the first view of the house by visitors. The surrounding trees and shrubs can be pruned to meet safety and comfort criteria. The sides of the house can be used for gardens, vegetable gardens, etc.

The original architecture of the Jockey Club was designed by Rio de Janeiro architect Elisário da Cunha Bahiana. With an art deco style, the lines of the building seek to convey modernity and break with the excess of ornamentation of previous schools. At CASACOR São Paulo 2015 , this same house housed Lagom , a space by Patrícia Martinez. The 70 m² house was made up of blocks, loose rooms that could be organized in different ways. The concern with the rational use of energy and water was also present. present in the project. Using a system of mirrors and prisms, a natural lighting model was chosen by the architect. The technology allowed sunlight to reach normally poorly lit areas of a house, such as bathrooms, kitchens, halls and closets. Brazilianness, the central theme of the show that year, was represented in the project through bamboo applications.
