"Having our work recognized by one of the world's leading architecture institutions is extremely gratifying, we are ecstatic! And we share this achievement with everyone involved in the project. Now it's time to celebrate! ", they said via the firm's Instagram .

Moradas Infantis (Divulgação)

Moradas Infantis houses a boarding school, where 540 students study and live. In addition to its aesthetics, what stands out and sets the project apart is the active participation of its occupants, the children, teachers and school staff, in its design.

The architects carried out an immersive process of dialogue with the students to understand their reality, needs and desires. The result is a beautiful reflection of the confluence of local cultures: a mixture of indigenous traditions with white, European culture. This relationship, often conflicting due to land demarcations and settlements, came together harmoniously in the architecture of the new boarding school. The project received several other awards, including the 2017 APCA Award, from the São Paulo Association of Art Critics, in the category of Work of Architecture in Brazil; the 5th Saint-Gobain Architecture Award – Sustainable Habitat ; the Tomie Ohtake AzkoNobel Architecture Award ; the Building of the Year and the Work of the Year Award promoted by ArchDaily; in addition to being present at the Venice Architecture Biennale , which will take place between May 26th and November 25th.
