CASACOR Minas has established a partnership with the capital in the last editions of the show – which has been considered one of the main characteristics and achievements of the management implemented by Eduardo Faleiro and Juliana Grillo, responsible for the Minas Gerais franchise. This partnership seeks to rescue the city's historical heritage and enhance its richness, as we saw in 2015 in the Pampulha Modern Complex's candidacy process for the title of Cultural Heritage of Humanity, through various partnerships and articulations. Last year's edition, The aim was to celebrate the title of Cultural Heritage of Humanity won by the Pampulha Modern Ensemble from UNESCO, with activities at the Pampulha Art Museum, temporarily reactivating the café and restaurant there, as well as events at the Casa do Baile and the Iate Tennis Club. However, in 2017, this action of using public spaces becomes grand and emblematic. This year, the Minas Gerais exhibition has the challenge of bringing the concept of living well in contemporary times to a historic building in the capital. The building, which will host the event , is part of the Architectural Complex of Praça da Estação, a region marked by strong urban, cultural, political and gastronomic effervescence.
The site served as the headquarters of the now defunct Rede Ferroviária Federal S/A – RFFSA, and is directly associated with the creation of Belo Horizonte. In recent years, the building has been undergoing a restoration process, under the supervision of IPHAN, to house the facilities in the future. from the Railway Museum.
The property is located at 383 Sapucaí Street, in a region characterized by becoming a kind of cultural and gastronomic corridor of the capital, which has been establishing itself completely spontaneously. The building has three floors, a basement, an attic and gardens. They will be used by total area of approximately 4,000 m², which will be distributed in approximately 40 environments. “The proposal for this edition is a real challenge for architects, interior designers and landscapers to surprise the public with projects that bring design closer to people. The space we chose to host this year’s show is in perfect harmony with its theme, as it allows for larger environments, with generous spaces, capable of bringing many possibilities for reflection on housing with a focus on the essential. The idea of this edition is to show that life can be simpler”
