Amidst the urban landscape of New York buildings, the green image of the vertical garden proposed by Italian architect Piero Lissoni , founding partner of Lissoni Casal Ribeiro , for the Skyhive 2020 Skyscraper Challenge competition emerges. More than just a building, the project is a true vertical ecosystem that connects architecture and nature through its hanging gardens.

The design of the project was based on the image of a tree, referencing the trunks and branches not only aesthetically, but also in its structure. This has rainwater absorption technology to irrigate the vegetation and transform the energy of the sun and wind into electricity to be used inside the building.
The large gardens are suspended by a type of curtain of steel cables that covers the building, and has a dual structural and aesthetic function. The garden is essential to make the building self-sufficient, a system that produces, optimizes and recycles energy, in addition to also be a perfect microclimate that filters the air, absorbs carbon dioxide and produces humidity.
