American singer
Pharrell Williams launched a new venture this week beyond music: now, the artist is opening a
new luxury hotel in Miami , in partnership with businessman David Grutman. Called the
Goodtime Hotel , the construction was designed to
reflect the art deco architecture of the local area.
The work is by New York firm
Morris Adjmi , which designed the building, while landscape architect
Raymond Jungles worked on the hotel's exterior areas. The interior design, with double-height ceilings, leopard fabrics, pastel-colored coverings and a mural of hand-painted greenhouse, was created by American designer
Ken Fulk .
In total, the Goodtime Hotel has
266 guest rooms , as well as
100,000 square feet of public space . Located in the central and historic part of South Beach, the hotel
occupies an entire block of Washington Avenue.
- In addition to accommodations, the hotel is also home to
Strawberry Moon , a
30,000-square-foot restaurant and pool club serving Mediterranean dishes. On the ground floor, there is a bar, a gym and a library.
In the hotel's restaurant and pool club, Fulk's design
channels the energy of Caribbean and Central American cities like Havana and Acapulco, known for their resorts. This theme is translated into decorative elements like
pastel-colored tiles ,
vintage benches , and and
striped awnings .
In an interview, Pharrell Williams commented: "We want the Goodtime Hotel to convey a
sense of revitalization and that rare, exhilarating thrill that comes when you discover something special." Source: dezeen and Folha de Sao Paulo
