The Technological Institute of Aeronautics will put into practice on Wednesday, January 31, the Habitas Project , a set of sustainable renovation techniques, developed especially for application in old buildings.

According to the professor, Habitas considers the reduction of socio-environmental impacts and self-sufficiency from the design of plans to the choice of materials and energy and water consumption.
Niemeyer House
One of the buildings included in the Habitas Project, the Niemeyer House was designed by the architect as part of a residential complex for the campus. The residences are semi-detached, with two well-defined floors and balconies with pilotis.

The renovation aims to preserve Niemeyer's original design, but with the inclusion of sufficient sustainable technologies to achieve AQUA-HQE certification – a sustainability standard for Brazilian buildings, which always seeks to improve performance.
