IM Pei Receives Award from American Institute of Architecture

On April 26, architect I.M. Pei , winner of the Pritzker Prize in 1983, turned 100. That same week, the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) awarded him and his project Le Grand Louvre (Paris, France, 1989) the 2017 AIA 25 Year Award. The award is given to works that have been around for 25-35 years and continue to maintain their standards of excellence for their architecture and importance. The award was received during the AIA National Convention at the end of last month. The architect was chosen to design the extension of the Louvre in 1983 and was the first foreign name to interfere in the architecture of the museum.
