Under construction in the Petrópolis neighborhood of Porto Alegre, the
IDEA Bagé building was designed to provide a glimpse into the future of residential construction. It is integrated into a technological system that is allied to different sustainable bases – among them, the use of IoT (Internet of Things) to monitor water, gas and energy consumption; the application of ecological showers, which reduce water consumption by up to 60%; and the self-cleaning façade that guarantees thermal and acoustic efficiency in the apartments.
One of the highlights of the construction is the 130 m² photovoltaic panel system that will have the capacity to generate all the electrical energy needed to maintain the building's condominium area, in addition to also generating up to a third of the energy to be consumed by its 14 apartments. What's more, the same panels, when combined with sustainable technology, can transform absorbed solar heat into hot water through a central heating system. The building will also have a system for reusing rainwater and water generated by condensation in air conditioning units, thus saving around 400 liters of water daily.
