CASACOR RJ 2015 will take place in a village with nine houses

On July 13, the operational launch meeting for Casa Cor Rio de Janeiro took place, bringing together around 150 people, including architects, decorators, suppliers and sponsors. At the event, they were able to learn more about their spaces and the new features for the 25th edition of the Rio de Janeiro show. Among them – and the most important – was the host location, a village with nine houses. But this is not just any village; it will occupy Villa Aymoré, in Glória, acquired and restored by Landmark Properties, with supervision and monitoring by the Rio de Janeiro World Heritage Institute.

“It will be a Casa Cor that is very different from the ones we have done in recent years. While, as always, we follow housing trends – and mixed-use buildings are increasingly common around the world – on the other hand, we have never occupied ten properties at the same time,” says Patrícia Mayer, partner of Patrícia Quentel at 3Plus, the firm that has organized the exhibition since its inception. All the townhouses (with an average area of 230 m²) are interconnected – at the front, by the village street; at the back, by a redesigned path. But each one is unique: the original plans are different and will be enhanced by the implementation of Casa Cor Rio. The exhibition will take place from September 1st to October 4th, and will feature 40 spaces with super contemporary styles that will mix housing and work, developed by architects such as Lia Siqueira, André Piva, Gisele Taranto, Jairo de Sender, Marina Linhares, among others. “Basically, what we have done in these 25 years is to show the style of living in Rio de Janeiro, which reflects our way of living: chic, casual and contemporary. This is what makes the Rio edition so unique”, adds Patrícia Quentel.
