A fresh, cozy space in which nature played a leading role in the decoration was the result obtained with the
Casa JY project , by architect
Arthur Casas .

Located in the interior of São Paulo, at Fazenda Boa Vista, the
summer house was built for a family with two adult children. It was divided into two volumes: the ground floor where the
social area is located, and the upper floor which accommodates
three suites ,
a gym and a
games room . The
1,127 m² of built area seem even larger when you are on the ground floor. This is due to a smart choice by architect
Arthur Casas , who gave up the walls and invested in the total integration of the social area with the outside.

Despite being quite airy and open, the architect was also concerned with ensuring that the house provided more privacy for the family, thus preserving the walls on the side that is exposed to the street.

For the architect, the biggest challenge encountered in executing the project was creating large cantilevers and openings in a very slender structure. The solution was to use the spaces between the floors to create inverted beams.

One of the client's wishes was for his property to differentiate itself from the homes in the neighborhood. To achieve this, the facade cladding was made of lead gray aluminum, which is not only different, but also requires little maintenance.
Sustainable actions in Arthur Casas’ project
Investing in an open space ensured better use of
natural light during the day. Meanwhile, the landscaping incorporated nature in the best way, making the place cooler.

green roof is also presented as an example of sustainable action, and
plates that capture sunlight to heat water in the residence are also present.

decks are made of plastic wood , and
cross-circulation of air helps reduce air conditioning consumption on hotter days.
