CASACOR Pernambuco 2018 will take place between September and November, with 42 environments in 5
thousand m² of the mansion belonging to the traditional Santos family, located in the Casa Forte neighborhood, in Recife. Preparations for the exhibition are in full swing, and the works and designs for the projects are already being carried out. Based on the annual theme of the exhibition,
A Casa Viva , the event organizers called on the Selvagen office to design an environment dedicated to lectures and debates, super functional. The Arena also has a living concept and goes beyond just a signed space: it becomes an architectural installation and is an invitation to experiment and concrete use of the place.
Named
Arena Arbor , the environment is inspired by a tree, representing the symbol of life, taking into account all its faces: roots, trunk, crown, flower and fruit. "Based on the focus on the experiences that users will have in this place , we refer to the playful aspect that trees bring to people's memories as a stage for games, moments of rest and the feeling of comfort that they provide", explains the office. At the
Arbor Arena , visitors will be able – in addition to witnessing the events that will take place there – to use the space as a rest and lounging area, as it will be at the center of the exhibition.
Sustainability is a highlight of the project, where the three-dimensional structure respects the space in which it is inserted, uniting the architecture with the nature that already exists on the site. Natural lighting, the use of LEDs and the interlocking structure are just some of the other points that make
Arena Arbor a sustainable construction.
