Last month, we opened a
poll to try to find out which environment was our readers' favorite among the 21 spaces at
CASACOR Santa Catarina | Florianópolis 2021 . The 70 m² room designed by
Natália Xavier ,
Veredas Autoria Design , was the big winner with 47.81% of the votes –
almost half of the 14,216 total votes . The space that pays homage to Guimarães Rosa's masterpiece, the book Grande Sertão: Veredas, focuses on signature design to guarantee a good dose of Brazilianness.
One of the most striking features of the space is the
strong presence of wood . Whether in the panels that cover the walls and ceiling of the living area or in the hand-selected furniture, wood gives the room a
cozy appearance , reinforced by other natural textures.
The timeless work of Guimarães Rosa is brought into the space in two ways: in the Brazilianness that runs throughout the composition and in the color of the Coral paint in the dining area, called Grandes Sertões. Furthermore,
design pieces signed by great masters such as Aristeu Pires, Ronald Sasson, Maria Cândida Machado, Arthur Casas, Alfio Lisi and Lairana make the environment even more special.
