The imposing
Cais Hall uses its spaciousness to house different environments, in a unique project that takes advantage of the welcoming vocation of the old pier – where many passengers docked – to welcome visitors to
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro . The pre-existing pillars shaped the layout of the spaces, designed by
Paola Ribeiro to enhance the original Art Deco style. The pillars also support the shelves and are integrated into the latticework, embraced by natural wood.
Furthermore, signature design, such as the Alta armchair by Oscar Niemeyer and the Loosing Sight 4 pieces by Gustavo Padro, is paired with a careful selection of art, such as the digital print on cotton paper by Lucia Koch.
The distribution of the furniture is surprising, both in the upholstery, sometimes facing the center of the room and sometimes facing outwards, in the vertical and horizontal panels, and especially in the dining table, placed diagonally in front of one of the doors that lead to the balcony.
