Lia, Felipe and Betina Siqueira – Space III Small Study Room. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of CASACOR Rio de Janeiro, Lia Siqueira pays homage to the first edition of the show by naming the space she created in partnership with her children after the space she presented in 1991. A mansion with generous windows and high ceilings, the project takes advantage of the original architecture and uses white to reflect natural light and create a sense of freshness, tranquility and simplicity. The furniture and carpentry designed by Lia use natural materials that complement the stone floor and the gardens visible through the windows.

The young architect Lia Siqueira – very pregnant with her second daughter, Betina – made her debut at CASACOR in the first edition of the exhibition's Rio franchise. The space was tight, but it had a high ceiling that allowed the architect to transform it into a charming library , with ladder shelves that led to a mezzanine. casacor rio de janeiro 2021 rj ambientes decoração arquitetura mostras lia felipe betina siqueira espaço iii pequena sala de estudos Named Small Study Room at the time, the space would be awarded in the annual competition of the Institute of Architects of Brazil . But in the Siqueira family, it was marked as the place for Betina's first outing, who was born in the first week of the show. casacor rio de janeiro 2021 rj ambientes decoração arquitetura mostras lia felipe betina siqueira espaço iii pequena sala de estudos Thirty years later, Betina, now an interior designer, signed a new Small Study Room with her mother and brother Felipe. In the space, the first element that called it one of the trio was the stone floor, taken from an old quarry in the region – something very rare to find. casacor rio de janeiro 2021 rj ambientes decoração arquitetura mostras lia felipe betina siqueira espaço iii pequena sala de estudos Another detail that didn’t go unnoticed was the lighting. With seven arched windows and a ceiling height of five meters , the space is bathed in natural light. A feature that the trio valued even more by changing the off-white walls to white. "I was enchanted by this space. Our office already has this feature of working in solar spaces and when I entered the space, it really moved me. Both because of the light and this floor" explains Lia Siqueira. casacor rio de janeiro 2021 rj ambientes decoração arquitetura mostras lia felipe betina siqueira espaço iii pequena sala de estudos The already high ceiling doubles in size due to the effect caused by the exclusive shelves , all in freijó, which extend the look to the ceiling. Rotating, the pieces dialogue with the original architecture and also serve to store books by the “owner of the space” – a student of the behavior of artists and their workplaces. Because of this, the few accessories used there were provided by names in the arts such as Gabriela Machado , Beatriz Milhazes , Luiz Zerbini and Leda Katunda . Another luxurious loan that can be seen in the space is the Bia Corrêa do Lago library, which includes all of Rubem Fonseca's work . casacor rio de janeiro 2021 rj ambientes decoração arquitetura mostras lia felipe betina siqueira espaço iii pequena sala de estudos
