FAU+D Acolhe creates community kitchen in Brasilândia at Janelas CASACOR SP

In partnership with CASACOR , the FAU+D Acolhe program, from Mackenzie Presbyterian University (UPM), is participating in the Janelas CASACOR exhibition, São Paulo edition, with the project Community Kitchen Healthy Eating Sacolão Freguesia do Ó. The environment uses sustainable materials and technological. In addition to the interior, the space has an external area covered by a bamboo structure, made by Gera Brasil, and two side flowerbeds with gardens and a vegetable garden.

After the exhibition, the structure that was developed by UPM students and professors, coordinated by professor Rodrigo Loeb, will be donated to the Tiro ao Pombo Community Center and used by the community to promote courses, training and events.

According to Loeb, the entire process is an opportunity, for both students and teachers, to interact with the community, with the regional city hall and with the private sector in the construction industry, developing a project that articulates and interacts with these bodies and materializes in the territory as a concrete object and integrator of knowledge in practice. "This also allows the construction of empathy and the understanding that we all need to engage in actions that contribute to the requalification and significance of precarious territories in the promotion and defense of the life of its residents", he adds.
